Nautical Mile Music Thursday and Friday! Silverqueen & Nice and iLL

Howdy Freeport!

This is going to be a short one without the hard-hitting, bruise-inducing dramatic gravity of my previous two entries.  I know, I can feel some of you already reaching for that little X in the top-right corner of your screen (assuming that's where your close button is), but wait!

This weekend there's not one, but two big to-do's!

Thursday, August 16, 7:30 PM:  FREE Silverqueen Concert

Yep.  In what is apparently an encore performance to her first performance in Freeport, the Long Island Arts Council at Freeport is sponsoring another free show by Silverqueen!  The gig will be at the Nautical Mile Esplanadae (That's the gazebo at approximately the middle of the Mile, near the parking lot) at 7:30.  In the event of inclement weather, deemed unlikely by The Weather channel, the performance will be at the Freeport Recreation Center.

So get out, if you can, and check it out!  According to Mrs.  Lois Howes of the Long Island Arts Council, "she is fabulous...a little Kate Bush meets Pink Floyd!!"

Friday, August 17, 8:00 PM:  Video Shoot for Nice and iLL!

As usual, our friends in Freeport's Freshest (I just made that up, like it?) are filming another music video down at the Nautical Mile.  Seeing as they've done this before, and they always do an awesome job in making sure everyone has a great time, I'd suggest everyone stop in and support them!

As per the flyer, they're going to be at Braccos and joined by Doug Oko and Michael Anthony!  And, yes, in a move to attract one gender in favor of another, they've chosen to give out free bottles of liquor to large groups of ladies.  That will help defray the costs of the adventure, as it's my understanding that Bracco's charges a cover fee.  It might be $10, but I honestly haven't been a patron of Bracco's in forever and a day, so I wouldn't know for certain.

But, hey!  Can't argue that it's an impressively scaled place and perhaps the largest-scale video (rivaled by "Thank Them All") Nice and iLL have come up with, yet!  So if you're up for a night on the "scene," quite literally, hit them up and cheer on Nice and iLL!
